Our Shop

Strange Apparitions is an independent comic book and collectables shop with a physical store in Weston, near Spalding, Lincolnshire. We stock a carefully selected mix of vintage and brand new comic books, making us a go-to destination for anyone searching for a friendly local comic shop. Our range covers major publishers including Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, and BOOM! Studios, alongside a strong selection of indie and independent comics, with titles suitable for all age ranges.

We’re also passionate about vintage toys and action figures, with a rotating selection always on display in our cabinets. Our main focus is on 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s collectibles, including G1 Transformers, He-Man / Masters of the Universe, Kenner Star Wars, TMNT, Power Rangers, Alien, Ghostbusters, Mighty Max, Polly Pocket, Thundercats, GI Joe, MASK, WWF, and many more. Stock changes regularly, so there’s always something new to discover.

Alongside vintage items, we carry a range of brand new collectible toys and figures, chosen for their quality, detail, and design. This includes a wide selection of NECA figures, known for their highly detailed sculpts, as well as Super7 and ReAction figures for fans of retro-inspired collectibles.

Meet the Team

Alex

Alex has been fascinated by comic art, animation and action figures for over 30 years. He has always found all 3 magical, and has a deep respect for the creators behind them. His favourite medium is comics, for their expressionism, versatility and collectability. What he loves most about them is that one person passionate enough can produce every aspect of a comic from start to finish. His favourite creators include Jack Kirby, H.R. Giger, and Dan Clowes among others.  

He graduated from the University of Westminster with a BA in Illustration & Visual Communication, and in 2015 with a MA in Visual Communication with a specialism in illustration and comic art, from the Royal College of Art in London. 

With Strange Apparitions, it's Alex's goal to create a friendly environment where people can meet and connect, "growing up, it was always very hard to find anyone else where I lived who were into the same things that I was passionate about"

Nick is our Assistant Manager and Head of Online Sales, and if you ever need help finding something, he’s your guy!

He’s been reading X-Men for as long as he can remember and has recently fallen deep into the world of big, beautiful omnibus editions. 

His favourite writers include Brubaker, Claremont and Straczynski; and he loves the art of Bill Sienkiewicz.

Nick joined the team after Covid and quickly became a key part of the shop, especially when it comes to online orders and tracking down hard-to-find items.

​He also collects sticker albums and is a huge Battlestar Galactica fan, always happy to chat comics or sci-fi.
